For over fifty years, Polywater has been dedicated to helping utilities and infrastructure companies connect, protect, and ensure a better-connected world. Through the combination of its technical expertise and industry knowledge, Polywater has provided innovative field-ready solutions for underground cable installation, system hardening initiatives, and asset maintenance and repair. Today, Polywater is elevating its commitment by introducing a new global subsidiary dedicated to serving the Asia Pacific (APAC) and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions.

Prior to the establishment of this new subsidiary, Polywater had been supporting the electrical and communications infrastructure construction and maintenance sectors within these regions. Initially, Polywater supported these sectors through its global distribution networks. In recent decades, it has expanded its role through direct, field-focused collaboration with partner OEMs, network owners, utilities, engineering firms, and contractors.
“Polywater truly became a global company in the early 2000s with the establishment of our first subsidiary in Europe, but its international roots can be traced all the way back to the late 1970s,” said John Fee, retired CEO of Polywater and active Polywater Board Member.

In 1977, Polywater was contacted to help with the installation of a large underground telephone cable system in the Middle East. This generated a substantial order of cable lubricant which became a major milestone in the growth of Polywater.

“That large telephone project took Polywater from a small, niche company to the next level. It helped us see the potential in becoming an international organization,” recalled Chris Jonnes, retired Polywater CFO and active Polywater Board Member. “We set that goal years ago, and the launch of this new division contributes to its full realization,” said Jonnes.

Specifically, Polywater began strengthening its presence in the Middle East in 2007 and within the Asia Pacific countries shortly thereafter. In 2006, current Polywater CEO, Erik Freyser was hired to lead the European subsidiary of Polywater. It was under Erik’s leadership that the seeds of future international growth were planted.

“For over 15 years, Polywater has worked diligently. We’ve been fortunate to have a talented team in place, persistently building relationships, listening to the market, and providing solutions. It’s the perfect time for us to take that support to the next level with our new subsidiary and vice president, Imteyaz Siddiqui,” stated current Polywater CEO, Erik Freyser.

Imteyaz Siddiqui has over 30 years of professional experience and a proven track record of success in the electric power industry, including 12+ years at Doble Engineering as Managing Director (India) and Regional Sales Director (GCC). He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from AMU, Aligarh, India and is based in Dubai, UAE, positioning him ideally to lead regional operations.

“Imteyaz brings a wealth of industry knowledge, technical expertise, and cultural experience to the organization. We are thankful and proud to have him as part of the Polywater family and look forward to the next chapter of Polywater” shared retired Polywater Global VP, Charles Cole.

Polywater APAC & GCC, headquartered in Dubai, UAE, will provide direct support to customers across the Arab Gulf Region, India, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

“As demands on the electrical grid grow due to increased consumption, renewable energy integration, and electrification, the need for robust infrastructure has never been greater—especially as aging systems add further strain. Addressing these challenges requires more than innovative technology; it demands strong partnerships between manufacturers and service providers,” stated Imteyaz Siddiqui. “These collaborations form the backbone of efforts to build, restore, and protect the critical assets that power our world, and Polywater will continue to seek out and build these collaborative relationships,” Siddiqui explained.
